Further to the success achieved last year, GreenPak is again launching the initiative, ‘Irriċikla għall-Istrina’, in order to collect funds for Istrina 2012 through recycling practices; an initiative which will benefit both the Malta Community Chest Fund and in turn our environment.
Through Irricikla ghall-Istrina, GreenPak will collect bottle caps from those primary schools within the 32 localities collaborating with GreenPak and then send these bottle caps for recycling. In return for these caps, GreenPak will present its donation to Istrina 2012. Such initiative will be launched officially next week.
Luqa Primary, together with 53 other schools, was chosen to take part in this initiative. Schools will be provided with recycling bags for each class in which students can place caps they bring to school.
There will be two collections of the bags organized for our school; one by end November and one between the 17th and 19th of December 2012. Once the total weight is determined GreenPak will then donate a sum of money to Istrina.
All the schools will be taking part in a competition were the schools which collect the highest number of caps will be awarded. In fact representatives from these schools will join GreenPak CEO and Green Gary (the mascot) during the presentation of the financial donation to Istrina on the 26th of December 2012.
This initiative will be marketed around the island thus we can have people not related to the school who bring their caps to our school for this good cause. This can also help us collect more caps than other schools!
