On Tuesday 6th December we organised a whole school activity in aid of L-Istrina 2016 as part of the Piggy Bank Campaign. All children assembled in the school hall, money in hand. First we had a special assembly about Christmas from P1.2 of Ms O Camilleri.
The children read about Maltese Christmas traditions. They also sang two Christmas Carols to the accompaniment of the joyful cheers of the rest of the students.
Then the same year 1 pupils, Piggy Banks in hand, went round the hall where the rest of the children put there donations in the piggy bank. The generosity of the Luqa Primary school children was very evident.
All the money collected from our school will be doubled by Bank of Valletta before being passed on to the Malta Community Chest Fund. A big thank you goes to the parents for their cooperation and support. The sum collected will be communicated to you as soon as we are informed.
Bi pjaċir inħabbru t-twaqqif ta’ Nurture Class fl-iskola tagħna. Din il-klassi li għandha tqassim jixbah aktar lil dak ta’ dar milli ta’ klassi, qiegħda biex jingħata servizz lil tfal li għal xi raġuni jew oħra jkunu għaddejjin minn problemi emozzjonali li jirriflettu fuq l-imġiba tagħhom. Din il-klassi titmexxa minn għalliema u LSA imħarrġa apposta u l-interventi li jsiru mat-tfal ikunu ta’ madwar siegħa u nofs. Il-kamra ġiet mgħammra b’dak kollu li wieħed isib id-dar fosthom kċina żgħira u living room. Dan l-investiment sar bi flus ivvutati fil-budget tal-iskola kif ukoll mill-fund raising activities li għalihom il-ġenituri jikkonkorru bi sħiħ. Ta’ dan nixtiequ nirringrazzjaw lil kulħadd.
Sar ukoll taħriġ lill-istaff sabiex ikun jafu aktar dwar dan is-servizz ġdid fl-iskola tagħna u kif jistgħu jibbenefikaw minnu l-istudenti tagħna.
We are pleased to announce the setting up of a Nurture Class in our school. This class which has the physical set up similar to a home will be offering support for children who are passing through emotional difficulties and are subsequently manifested in change in behaviour in class. The class is run by a teacher and an LSA who will be conducting short sessions with referred children giving them the necessary skills to cope with their situation. The room has been furnished with money from the school budget as well from money generated through the fund raising activities to which parents contribute generously. We wish to thank you for your help. A training session was held for members of staff about this new service in our school and how children can benefit from such service.
It-tfal kollha minn Kinder 1 sa Year 6 huma mħeġġa sabiex dakinhar iġibu magħhom €1 sabiex huma stess ipoġġuh fil-Piggy Bank tal-Istrina. Tajjeb niftakru li s-somma li tinġabar tiġi rrdupjata mill-Bank of Valetta, għal daqs tant fuq popolazzjoni ta’ qrib it-300 student is-somma mogħtija lill-Community Chest Fund taf tqarreb is-€600. Ejjew nipruvaw nilħqu dan it-tir u niftakru li l-ftit li nagħtu aħna se jgħin ħafna tfal u familji li għaddejjin minn tbatija kbira. (Kulhadd huwa liberu li jagħti kemm jixtieq)
Grazzi kbira tal-ġenerożità tagħkom!
On Tuesday 6th December 2016 at 13:00 we are holding a short but significant activity in the school hall. During this activity, that will take the form of a special assembly we will be collecting money for the annual L-Istrina campaign in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund. All children from Kinder 1 to Year 6 are urged to bring with them €1 to put into the L-Istrina Piggy Bank. It is good to remind you that all money collected is doubled by the Bank of Valletta, so on a population of nearly 300 students, the sum passed on to the Malta Community Chest Fund may reach the €600 mark. So let us try to reach our target and also remember that with our little donation we will be helping children and families who are passing through a hard time. (You are all free to donate as much as you like)
Thank you for your kind generosity!
On Friday 25th November the Year 4.2 class of Ms M Muscat presented their special assembly. The topic chosen was Respect. The children read out messages about how we should show respect to one another and how to act in different situations.

L-iskola ilha tirbaħ il-Gold Award sa mis-sena skolastika 2007-2008 u tajret il-Blue Banner għal darbtejn. Għax-xogħol li sar fis-sena skolastika li għaddiet l-iskola ġabet 2330 punt u kklassifikat ir-raba‘ mill-iskejjel kollha ta’ Malta u Għawdex. Prosit kbira lill-istudenti u membri tal-istaff għal dan l-unur sabiħ!
